To see it grow

I've had my hands in the dirt since I was a young man.

I thought it'd be neat to show some time lapse from seed to harvest of our micro-grow.

We planted April 26th. The last picture is from this morning.

We've got Parks Whopper, Big Boy, Better Boy, Early Girls, and Beefsteak tomatoes, Jalapeno and Bell Peppers, Spinach, Lettuce, Carrots, Okra, Cucs, Zucs, Crooknecks, Green Onion. I've been grilling the heck out of the Zucs and Crooknecks, and the green onion is nice on a baked tater. We haven't bought produce in while to say the least.

You slice the crooknecks and the zucchini long ways like a pickle spear would be.

Marinate in Italian Dressing for about an hour in the fridge after slicing.

I normally let them go on low heat until the black marks start to show up like they would on a steak and give them a flip.

I then dash a bit of Tony Chachere's on them and man you talk about good son!

These are killer with a chicken breast or steak fresh off the grill also.

I've not attempted fried Zucs yet in a slice form, but I know that fried Crookneck is awesome. Batter it like you would a shrimp with flour and egg and drop that sucker in to fry. Golden brown is the look we're after of course and it doesn't take long on low heat.

Some folks like to use the grill basket, but I'm good enough that my stuff doesn't fall through the grate.

Good tongs are the key.

That is one nice looking little garden. Looks like you put some work into it and hope you reap the rewards you truly deserve for it. There is NOTHING better or healthier than home grown produce fresh off the vine. Enjoy

Live and learn. Does look good though.

I may also try that battered and fried crookneck, sounds pretty good. We have ate battered deepfried Cauliflower for yrs and its one of my FAVE snacks. Even better than onion rings or mushrooms. Now i am getting hungry......

Nice raised bed. Good sun.
Way to go! What's your soil mix?
I do veggies the same way.
Best grilled, right on.

Wow, that looks really good. Someday I want to have a big garden like yours. It looks nice and neat. Ours is kind of just thrown together. There is nothing like eating fresh vegetables and hers right from a garden!
