It depends on the 'bumps'.

If I'm causing them I just grab the head board, he he he he.

If it would be any other 'bump' it the Remmie 870 12 gauge next to the bed.

Well, I have a Direct Advanced Warning Guard (AKA DAWG) to let me know if there is any unauthorised bumping going on, and if there is I just grab the S&W .357 out of my dresser.

Now, since they are the easiest guns in the world to use, I can't reccomend revolvers for anyone with kids. But being the lonely cowboy that I am, a revolver works perfectly for my home defence for a couple of reasons:

First of all, you can store a revolver loaded without putting any springs under tension, if you store a semi-auto loaded, the magazine spring can eventully weaken or wear out.

Nothing goes from sitting in the dresser to firing a round faster than a revolver, there is no chambering, safety or clips to worry about, all you have to do is pick it up and pull the trigger.

Revolvers just look meaner than semi-autos. If I'm going to be using a gun as a persuasive tool, I feel that a revolver is more intimidating.

I think someone would feel pretty inadequate after losing whatever body part you hit with that pistol.

Beretta 85F (9mm Short)
Smith and Wesson 686 (357)
Taurus 445 (44 Special)
Colt Combat Elite (45)
Ruger P95 DC (9mm Luger)

Any of the above will work but I choose the Beretta. Can't explain why.....just like it and I have the most practise with it.

Hello. Lately it's been my 3" Ruger GP-100 that's loaded with 145-gr. STHP ammunition.

I've been more than pleased with the thing and the DA pull has always been satisfactory and has smoothed up a bit with use. Recoil is not bad with the 145-gr. Winchester's and I think it will provide "enough" on the receiving end. While I prefer an automatic, the wife can use this gun more easily.

There is a loaded Remington 870 w/18" barrel close to hand as well. It is loaded with 000 buckshot.

Best.

all i got is a 22 arminius and a 38 s&w for revolvers and no semi's. so the 38 over the arminius and my rifles. the 38's took care of buisness for a lot of years for the police and the military, so it'll have to do for me for now.

S&W model 28 Highway Patrolman .357 with 125 gr. wad cutters. I use a Taurus Md. 25 .38 for a backup. (But I won't ever need it!) :uzi:
