| Senior Member | First air gun was a norinco sidelever, .177. I used to shoot rabbits and crows with it at 25 cents a head from my old man. first rimfire was a marlin 25n. first centrefire was a Sako vixen .222 (since re-barreled to .223) I still have them all, I use the air gun for shooting cane toads now.

| Senior Member | Hey wirlwind, Yah mate it's a common misconception, sure we have guns, we are just a little bit more restricted than you guys, bolt action, break action and lever action rifles are not a problem, semi auto's need a special licence and training. It goes on, and on and on. But well we do have guns.

| Senior Member | now now, I think that'd be hoping just a bit too much, just recently they banned all ownership of semi auto hand guns over .38 calibre, because the bigger callibres where the ones that criminals used. They are complete D*&#heads, and its not the elected government that is the real problem, it's the unelected minority pressure groups, and there aint nothing you can do about that.

| A 1952 Winchester 30/30 and a .22 don't remember the brand but wish I had it now. It shot shorts, rifle and long rifle. Was an auto loader that had a button you pulled out for auto and pushed in for single shot. Shortened the barrel off to hunt Jack rabbits out of a jeep. Burnt up in a dorm fire in Tulsa Oklahoma at an air craft school. Still have the 30/30 in excellent shape. Dad and I shot many a deer with it in western Colorado where I grew up. |

| Well, I started with a Daisy BB gun too, but not the "Red Ryder" model, just the regular one. I was death on glass bottles - before it was considered bad to bust them! Got to where I could pop the tops off from about 15 yards. A couple years back, Dad and I got the current Wal-Mart Red Ryder Millenium Model for "cat-scat duty" - but it sure has changed! Lot's more plastic than I remember - in fact I don't recall any plastic on the old one! Don't seem as powerful either. Pop a yardlion with one, he knows it, but he don't even sqwalk - he does scat though! At any distance, I can see the BB in flight - I walk 'em to the target - the sights don't adjust high enough for the distance I shoot!
