BFR Thought 1: 45-70, the old fashioned way

Yeah, I'm on a black-powder in modern revolver kick.

But something about shooting a 45-70 black powder load in a BFR seems incredibly appealing. I guess it's the smoke and flame?

The next question is whether it would be safe considering the muzzle flame and whether it would produce any sort of load practical for hunting.

I know Klaus will have something to say here, whenever he gets back from wherever he is.

We went and shot my buddy's old army revolver all summer. My only reccomendation is standing upwind, b/c any unburned powder can blow back at you. Trust me. I have the burn holes in my clothes to prove it.
