Did I mention?

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my Steyr M40? Shot it today for the third time. Not a single jam. Digested flat nose jacketed, hollowpoints, and conical lead reloads from Dick's with no difficulty.

It hits pretty accurately, though I seem to pull left.

EVERYONE who sees and feels it loves it, and when they shoot it, they want to steal it. I highly recommend it to anyone for almost any reason.

The M9 is available for $289.00 from CDNN. Questions:
Are there any hi-caps available for it?
Will it accept any other gun's hi-caps (modified or not)?
Will the M9 accept M40 mags (thus making more capacity)?
Are parts/accesories availe for this gun anywhere?
Do they even import and market these guns in the US anymore?
I'm trying to choose between the M9 and the XD9 pistols... The XD costs $50-$100 more, but it's in production and is becoming increasingly more common, which, oddly, cannot be said for the M9.

M9s and M40s are indeed still being imported, they've just switched importers which has caused a backlog, also why CDNN has the fully waranteed ones with the old importer name for as low a price.
No hi caps are available for civilians because it was invented long after the ban. Hi-caps are LE only. As far as modifying others goes, I've thought about that too, but haven't figured anything out. The law on this is that the mags must still work in the original gun to be legally modified. That's how we get 20 round mags for the AR-10.

I've never shot an XD-9, but everyone who's shot a Steyr loves it more than everything else except maybe the HK USP. This is the time to buy Steyrs, because when CDNN is out, they'll cost as much as the competition.
I believe I have seen a catalog for replacement parts. I think mags from the 40 will work in the 9, but I don't know for sure and would question its legality. I think 10 rounds is enough not to get into trouble.

Hi cap or low, this is one great pistol. I honestly wouldn't spend twice as much for 2 more rounds when I can simply get more 10 rounders. Nice even number. If it were a combat pistol maybe, but as a CCW simple is better.

For a SHTF combat pistol, I'm considering the Taurus 24/7.

But DANG are these Steyrs SWEET! I'm tempted to get another just in case. Yeah, that'll be my excuse, while I pull a dual wield once in a while.
