| Black Gun Finish, with a scratch > Showing chrome > solutions?
I have a IMI Desert Eagle .45, Black finish, and it has a little scratch in it, not a dent or ding or anything, just a little spot of scratch where some chrome is showing. Wondering a good solution to making it look like my baby eagle again :-!) Please, no magic marker comments |

somekind of touch up paint is probably what you want, check out www.brownells.com . oh , thats not chrome showing through the finish, its bare steel and is prone to rusting- keep it well oiled untill you get it refinished.

Any specific products I can get at like Bass Pro, or a gun range? Birchwood Casey® Aluminum Black Metal Finish The room temperature chemical used by gunsmiths and industry experts to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy to apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. Aluminum Black is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items. Birchwood Casey® Super Black™ Touch-up Pens An easy and effective way to touch-up nicks, scratches and worn areas of black anodized aluminum or black painted surfaces. The pens contain fast-drying, lead-free paint with superior adhesion and durability. For use on highly-polished and matte-finished alloy gun receivers, trigger guards, scopes, binoculars, cameras, flashlights, fishing reels and other sporting accessories. Use like a marking pen with no mess - simply rub on with "chisel point" felt tip. That's all I could find on Bass Pro, It's so tiny, but it still irritates me, don't necessarily want $30 aerosols, then again, I suppose I'd use it eventually.. anywhoo, I'm at work, going to oil it up and do a little something with it when I get home, rub it with the silicone cloth, make sure it dont rust up Thanks ! The gun in regard is a IMI Baby Eagle, to the best of my knowledge, that is Stainless steel |

the BC superblack would probably work. its all not the end of the world though, one of my browning hi powers has worn through the paint finish in several spots over the years, i just keep it oiled well. if you use your gun, you will eventually put wear on the finish- scratches are a little harsher though. lol
