My Polish TT33.......................

Now that Jesse and Chris payed the bill I can show you what I got a couple days ago...

Just traded two gray CZ52's for one Polish TT33 Polish Tokarev...Ex.cond...all number matching,even the mag...still got cosmo on it. Has an 11 in a circle on top of the slide with the 1954 date on it,made at the Radom plant. Unfortunately it has the import safety on it. Very small importer letters on the left frame under slide.
Sorry for crappy pics...laid it on the scanner...no camera...

Left side is NOT discolered like it looks...don't know why it came out like that.

Yep, those Polish pistols are some of the nicest examples I've seen. I'd swear my buddy's TT33 is unissued!

For those who aren't familiar with the TT33, here is what I just was reading just this morning on www.surplusrifle.com:

Fedor Vasilevich Tokarev developed the TT-30 Pistol for the Soviet Military. The TT-33 (Tokarev-Tula) adopted in 1933, an improved design over the TT-30, was widely used by Soviet troops during WWII.

A very close, less polished facsimile of John Browning's 1911 automatic pistol in design and function with a much simpler hammer/sear assembly.

Production of the TT-33 in the USSR stopped in 1954. Also made by China as the Type 51, Type 54, and M20, Hungary as the 48 M, Egypt as the Tokagypt 58, North Korean as the Type 68. At one time or another most communist or Soviet block countries made a variation of the TT-33 pistol.

Just today I saw a Chinese version going for $199 in 9mm. The CZ52 is retailing for about $99. Is that similar value, Joe? I haven't seen any Polish models around, so I really don't know what their value would be. It looks nice. Looking to get rid of any more CZ52 models? That is probably my next C&R purchase.

nice looking psitol there Joe, by the way how the saftey on it??? my Chi/com import has the worst saftey ever devised, gonna take that sucker out.

Safety is good...stiff...hardly used...gonna stay that way so it don't loosen up. A guy on ak-47.net said he put the regular grips on his without the cutout for the safety. They fit right on and they keep the stupid import safety down in the fire position.

Does anyone know where there are anymore for sale at a decent price? They seem to have dried up around here.

i bought a norinco (tok) once in georgia for like 80 bucks,but that was a long time ago. i wasnt very pleased with it at all. it would only feed ball ammo so couldnt shoot no super cool hollow points )= i got rid of it after about a year and got a german 22 mag single action in trade. that 22mag was called "bohm" if i remember right? it was a great shooter! well worth the trade.

the NorkToks are made for FMJ. like any military handgun. polishing the feed ramp would have allowed the HP's to work.
