FN 5.7 IOM pistol ... wth??? :)

Hi guys.

Anyone know what this is? I know it's Fabrique Nationale (french arms maker) but apparently they have a new or limited model gun called the IOM. Can anyone elaborate on what this is, or have a picture of it? I'm kinda familiar with the FN P90 from counterstrike, it's an odd looking gun that looks fun to fire, but really have no idea what the IOM is like framewise, size, etc.

BTW ... I've seen people advertising the sale of these guns for like 500 bucks a pop, but can't find any pictures of it.

Is that the safety lever or de-cocker above the trigger that looks like it is very inconvenient to operate?

I think thats an ambidexterous saftey, but I'm not sure

FN is Belgian. They use the French language among others. $500 is a great price for one. What its practical uses are is another matter. I think it would be great for varmints, and that's about it.

Isn't this the gun that was in the news awhile back? The media making a stink over the ammo that has already been outlawed that would punch through body armour.

The original ammo made for the gun or the gun made for it, I don't know which was Ap on purpose, the stuff here is not what the ATF considers AP. All that really boils down to is the velocity and the rating of the vest.
This might be a neat little bullet. maybe it will stick around.
