Lonegun, you were probably refering to the "broomhandle" Mausers. Seems the troops had a real prob. with not being able to hit anything in auto mode due to muzzle climb. They figured out out that by holding the gun sideways and starting on one side of a room, they could lay a continuous line of fire from one side to the other.

I have at times had what I call "The Lara Croft Syndrome." No, my chest hasn't suddenly begun to enlarge to inhuman proportions, rather I've had the urge to own twin pistols. The excuse being that my Steyr M40 is a wonderful but not common gun, with replacement parts nearly impossible to find. Of course on occasion I'd be tempted beyond restraint to fire both at once...

Believe it or not kids, but the "ghetto style" does have a pracitcal purpose. It is very effective in engaging a target from behind a barricade when you want to expose as little as yourself as possible, but it is done with two hands at more of a 45 degree angle as opposed to one hand at a 90 degree angle.

I did try shooting "gangsta style" at the range one time just to see what it was like. I might have even said "I'm gonna bust a cap in your punk !!!!!, beeyotch!!"

I was young and impressionable, and it only happened just the one time, I swear.

I have dabbled with the ghetto style. I guess a little entertaining to break things up once in a while. I remember not being able hit anything this way.

As for the roll.... I have never personally tried this, but have seen it done with one and also two pistols. Funny? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Dangerous? Yes. The single pistol one was pretty inaccurate. The two pistol one ended up with both pistols basically pointing at each other.

Talking

In my opinion, its not truly ghetto style unless while holding the gun sideways you also have your elbow bent and the firearm slightly above your head.

Also, it helps if as you fire the gun, you slightly thrust the weapon toward your target in an attempt to increase the bullet speed. :assult: :full:

I think that such an exaggerated Ghetto style is what causes the injuries described in my earlier post.

Actually, this is not done to incease bullet speed. From all the 'bangers' I have talked to (both old and new school), this is done to aid in ejecting the spent brass. The last thing you want to happen mid-shootout is firing your pistol and it stove pipes the old case. Doing this allows the (9mm I presume) brass to rain down like water.:full:
