That's a loaded Question Saragal...autoloader .45 -$400 and up....44 mag.-$350 and up! with so many choices of caliber, autos, revolvers, single shots, that is a tough question to answer. What do YOU feel comfortable with ??? Rich

Best handgun - qualify please. What are you looking for in a handgun that will make it good or bad? Good price - What is your price range? To a certain point you can always get more if you pay more, but there is a bit of a value curve in there that tops off eventually. A lot of punch - what are you looking to punch? A punching bag? A thug? An animal? Want clues? Here's one... tell us more of what you want. I meant all of the above in the best of humor with no offense intended.

In my own opinion, a good all around handgun that will put down all critters with two legs as well as four, and for the best price is a good .357 mag with a 4 1/2 barrel. That being being said, the "best" handgun is a WHOLE bunch of different things to a lot of different people.

Most fights begin at 10 feet, well thats my speculation, 380 bersa thunder with corbon hollow points. at least you will not shoot any one else beyond 10 feet, go through your attacker and wind up in innocent people, thats my rasitionalization, the 380 is pretty good just dont expect it to shoot beyond 50 feet without kentucky windage, oh it packs some wallop

I agree with Copper on this one. A .357 revolver is about a good as you can get as an all around handgun. Number one as a revolver you don't have to worry about jams or stovepipes. Second, you can shoot either .357 or .38 special ammo. And as for high capacity, most gun fights are over in three rounds.
