pricing over the phone

just curious...why dont gun stores tell you their price over the phone?

I called couple of gun stores around my area (northern cali) and none of them would tell me their price.

p.s. i was asking about the springfield XD 9mm package comes with 2 mags and a hoslter.

Why, they want you to come in for a test drive !!! They probably figure you will call all the shops to see who has one cheaper...
