I just purchased a rossi 971 .357 6 inch barrell used the cylinder sticks when try to open it any suggestions all replies would be helpful thanks

Do you mean that you have problems getting the cylinder open? or the cartridges stick when you try to eject them?

When I press my cylinder release forward on my Rossi 972 and tip the gun to the left, the cylinder falls open... have you cleaned it and lubed it since purchase?

BTW, if you have a Rossi .357 stainless with a 6-inch barrel, it's a 972 not a 971. The 971 is blued with a 4-inch barrel.
