| Avoid like the plague
I bought the .380 as a pocket carry I think it was in November. OK so the web of my thumb is close to the slide and thats my problem I got big hands and its a small gun. However it would have been better if they had taken the sharp edges off the bottom of the slide.
Anyway I have put less than one box (100 rounds) through it and its now dead. The plastic safety appears to have been cut off by the slide. It stovepipes about 1 round every 2 mags. The build quality is poor.
The trigger lock plastic key is very easily broken as is the trigger lock.
All in all. I think Nevada needs to close them down. Soon!.
And the cheeky gits expect me to pay the postage both ways for warranty service.
Smith and Wesson in contrast paid postage both ways when they replaced my SW9GVE extractor after 2 years and at least 5000 rounds.
On the positive side the gun is very accurate.

I have heard a lot of bad things about the Jimanez firearms. But that's just it, I have heard, not experienced the weapon.
I own 2 Hi-Points. Both are reliable accurate pistols. No they are not expensive, but a gun doesn't have to cost a grand to be a good gun.
I also own a Beretta, and a Ruger. I shoot the Hi-points more than my other guns. Many folks seem to enjoy bashing them, but you seldom hear about how well they perform, or how accurate they are. The Hi-Point also has an unconditional life time warranty. I and many others have had good experiences with the Hi-Point. Those that
do require service report that they receive it promptly.

Haven't shot the Hi Point pistols but the carbines are a hoot to shoot. I am waiting for the .45 carbine to come out.

| Beware of the JA 380
I bought a Jimenez 380 about a week ago and talked my brother in to buying one today. We went to the range and WOW!, what a disapointment. First neither would camber a round as designed. After about 20 tries I finally got one chambered and the red alert button came out as designed. I fired 6 rounds and the trigger pull is very hard. Lots of pressure needed to pull it through to fire. My brother had the same problem plus his jammed almost every try with one on the clips. It seemed to be much better with the other clip. I am so disapppointed. I realize they are a cheap weapon but I really expected much better performance. I intend to contact Jimenez about the problems but I don't expect them to honor the warranty and even if they do the gun has to be sent back to Nevada at my expense and the crap necessary to send guns through the postal service if even possible. I feel bad that I talked my brother into buying one. I hate to lose the $160.00 I paid but after I clean it and oil it up if it doesn't do better than today I am going to get rid of it as fast as I can find a bigger fool than me.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Jaminez ot Hi Point. If you are going to spend $150 for crap you owe it to yourself and your life to save a little longer until you have another $150 and buy a decent lower dollar gun. Friends don't let friends buy crap guns. In my opinion, one of the best deals on the market right now is a Taurus Millenium. Just good guns at a low cost. Here is a 9MM Millenium at Bud's for $304 including delivery. Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro 9mm Blue, 12 round for Sale at Buds Gun Shop |

I think Jimenez is the most disliked gun I have seen discussed here. Most of the other low end guns have mixed feelings. Seems just about everyone feels these guns resemble something I flushed down my toilette after departing my digestive system.

My buddy had his grandparents go and buy him a jennings 9mm when he was about 16. I was a year younger and he thought he was the absolute chit till one day we were hog hunting and he was showing off with his new gun and the slide came to pieces. Luckily it didn't hurt someone.

I got one to try before doing any homework on the company.... HUGE MISTAKE! 1 clip through the gun and the barrel cracked, guess I should be glad the slide didn't bust of and take my eye out. PIECE OF SHIITE!

There was one table at the gun show this past weekend selling used Jimenez's. He had about 25 different guns, mostly cheep like Jimenez, Raven, Phenox and everyone's favorite, High Point. He was a private dealer who didn't do background checks. Had Gang Bangers lined up. That is who buys Jimenez. They are throw away guns.
