I have collected up about 1000 rounds of ammo. want to take my c9n out for a field test. That should be a sufficient ammount to work out any problems.

| JA-9
I bought a JA-9 at a gunshow about 6 months ago. I'd never purchased a handgun before, and had only shot a 22 revolver before that. So far, I have had no problems at all with it. Once I adjusted the sights, it was very accurate. The only time it jammed, was when I tried using hollow points. It is not rated for High Pressure ammo, so that's probably the reason some of you had heard about the slide flying off. It only took a couple minutes to figure out how to take it apart and clean. Once I figured that out, it was easy to put back together. After firing through a clip, the slide stays open, which increases the speed of reloading another clip. Unfortunately there is no release button, so you manually have to release the tention off the safety to re-cock it. Also there is no hammer, so to un-cock it, you have to release the mag, pull the slide back and empty the round from the chamber (dry-fire). Other than that, I like it. I have shot probably about 500 rounds total with it. The mag holds 10, but you could probably put 1 in the chamber, if you wanted to take the time to put it in. Would I buy another one? Maybe. I bought it to keep in my home for protection. I would like to get something a little better.

I am still thinking about getting one and with your post it sounds like a new one would be fairly reliable. I am happy, now I want one more

I used to have to work on these masterpieces. People would actually buy them knowing they would have to get me to "tune" the magazines. Between paying for the "doodoogun" and paying me they could have bought one of our FM Highpowers.

Didn't "splatmaster" make the "Jennings 9 of paintball guns" ten or fifteen years ago?

Saturday Night Special-the term used by owners at the Jennings/Bryco/Jimenez forum. There, either buy one knowing that it's a ''Saturday Night Special'' or dont risk it.

I own a J9 and I shoot it weekly. The gun has been reliable, has never failed and has 3000+ rounds thru it!
I had a Hi-Poimt 45 and it was junk! Traded it at the pawn shop for some ammo and a holster for the J9!

I also own the Ja-nine. I read some bad reviews about it, but I went with it anyway. My husband has a few hi-points too. So we like to low priced guns. We had started purchasing them to see what I would like to shoot. I have a Glock 23 also, and it is a little to much for me to handle and I haven't fired it in over 2 years, so we felt it was money wasted. But with the 9mm I feel more comfortable firing it and I like my ja-nine.

Gotta love the gun bashers, I didn't notice any with personal experience with the JA9.
One person even tried offering a legal definition of a Saturday night special, a term no longer used because a legal definition that doesn't exist...
Come on people, lets TRY to maintain a modicum of reality here.
