| Why is the new vaquero so heavy? ![]() Looking at some options for a new toy, I compared the new model blackhawk 4.5" vs. the new vaquero 4.5", both in 45 colt. The "new blackhawk" model, which is suppsoed to be heavier and has a bigger grip frame, weighs three ounces less (36 v 40) than the smaller, trimmer new vaquero. Why not get the adjustable sights, more durable bluing, and less weight (and save $219)? What's up cowboy? Last edited by amason95631; 04-27-2007 at 05:20 PM. |

Go with the .45 Vaquero. I have one, great revolver. However, I have 3 Blackhawks, two .357's & .44 mag. I've got no complants against them either, they're great guns as well. The Vaquero makes for good "eye candy." They just look nice. I'm having one of the Ruger .357's converted to .44 Special cal. by Clements Custom Guns.
