Armed Citizen, Any personal accounts?

Any of you shooters have "armed citizen" experiences? I've had a few, though I never had to shoot. Can we discuss these stories here?

I was in the bank cashing my paycheck, many years ago. Another guy walked up to the teller next to me and told her, "This is a stick up, put all the money in a bag."
I turned left scanning the lobby and pulled my 1911A1 from the back of my pants, poking him behind the left ear with the muzzle, I told him. "Put yor hands on the counter." He didn't move. I yelled "Put your hands on the counter!"
The teller started screaming and he pissed his pants. the teller was his girlfriend and he was screwing around. The branch manager told me they knew him and it was okay. I lowered my hammer to half cock and looked at the puddle he made on the floor. Needless to say, he never did that again.

Many years ago I had an individual while I was on Patrol think he could outdraw "That old fart with the badge", he never cleared leather or more precisely his waist band but he did (Ahem) evacuate in his tighty whities when he looked down the business end of that M1911

I had a man break into my house, several years ago, and I had to use deadly force, for mine, and my family's safety. This man had been on methamphetamines , and wasn't in his right mind.

I had two occasions. Over half my lifetime ago (age 23 or so) I was walking along a dark street in Williamsport PA, where I was living at the time. There was a row of privet hedges along my right side with cut outs so you could follow sidewalks back to apartment buildings. As I passed, two large fellows came out onto the sidewalk, one in front of me and one behind me. (Uh...oh) I spun around to face them both and my hand went to my waistband, where I had a Hi-Standard Derringer in .22 Magnum inside a holster. It was pretty obvious that my hand was on a gun and that I was ready to draw.

The one on my left raised his hand and said' "Wait! We don't want any trouble with you! There has been somebody coming around harassing us and we thought you were him." I assured him that I would be happy to avoid any confrontation, and would just be on my way. They melted back into the dark and I gave the bushes a wide berth as I proceeded by. I suspect that derringer saved me from a good beating.

The other incident hapened when the police chased armed robbers (who were firing on the officer) right into my front yard. They bailed out of there car, and I ran out to stop it from flatening my fence. The officer yelled to me that he had taken fire from them.

I ran into the house. The officer was out front. I hit the spot lights out back, turned out the inside lights and warned my wife that if they came to get the officer that I was gonna take them out. (My poor wife...) I had a Ruger Single Six in .22 Mag. They were running like hell, actually, and were rounded up within two days. Still, when you don't know if a bad guy is behind your garden shed, it feels good to have a revolver in your hand.

Honestly I love hearing stories like these, it makes me kinda... proud of our rights against criminals.

I don't have any stories yet.

I don't have any, but my brother has had a couple. One one encounter the would-be mugger took off running when he pulled his Derringer.

On the other, some guy had jumped his privacy fence and was messing around with some stuff in his back yard (he was trying to get some equipment to rob a jewelry store nearby). A couple shots in the air and the man cleared the privacy fence in a hurdle!

I pack iron all the time. It has saved me a lot of serious trouble, but I am not going to post that stuff. pray that you never get in a gunfight, because they are not what you might think they are.
