| Newbee with Makarov queston Hi All, Just found this great forum and joined today. First question, have a friend that says his neighbor wants to sell a Makarov 9x18. Pistol is mint and comes with holster, mag and box of ammo. He is firm on 200. Wondering if this is a good deal on today's market? I have had a Mak in the past and really liked it. Many thanks in advance for any thoughts. |

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | That's an excellent price if the gun is in good shape. Most are selling in the $225-$300 range right now via mail order not including shipping and transfer fees. I'd jump on it just for investment purposes if nothing else. BTW, welcome to G&G, hope to see you around.

| Senior Member | If it is Russian it is definately worth it; if it is Bulgarian then the price is a little high for what I have gotten them for. If it is a russian/german I would be in the market to buy it. Let me know if you pass.

| Thanks everyone for the welcome and the info. My friend had the guy drop off the pistol at his house this morning then called me. Turns out that the pistol is a CZ 52. in excellent condition with holster, and he wants 200. I have never had this model before but do like the fact of no shipping or paper work. Any thoughts on this one? Many thanks. |

| spiritual counselor ![]() ![]() | they are going for $150 but then you would have to pay shipping and transfer fees so i would buy it.

| Thanks again everyone. Think I will make the guy an offer say in the neighborhood of 150 and see what happens. Actually I have been thinking of getting a C&R license. Will check out the thread here on it. I always thought that it would be a complicated process. Know I would go nuts for a while if I do get one. Not that long ago use to run down to Big 5 when they would put the M-38 and M-44's on sale bought a few nice ones there. I know C&R does not cover these but in the not to distant future my son and both want to get a couple of AK's so will be pestering you folks on info about them too. |

| Problem solved. Thanks again everyone, I did not buy the CZ 52 but am happy to say that I have reacquired my original Makarov 9x18. It is one of the models that has "Made in Russia" on the side. It sure is a Great little pistol. Now to start looking for good prices on 9x18 ammo. |

| Thanks again for all your info. Worked out that I did not get the CZ 52. However I did manage to reacquire my original Makarov 9x18, it's the model with 'Made in Russia" on the side. Now have to start looking for good deals on ammo. |
