It lets anything gather in between the barrel and the slide thus causing a malfuction. Now I am not saying there is anything wrong with the Beretta and many ppl bet their lives on them. as well as the other 2 listed. Truthfully my fave is the Glock. I don't really think the Sig belongs in this comparison due to the cost. A new Sig 226 is easily 800-850. I would love to have one and have absolute faith in the firearm. The cost is just way outta whack IMO.
Berrettas rock dude PX4 Px4 Px4 < i chant over and over again> . so do sigs no to glocks <get a steyr over a glock> but we all have are thoughts right man!

Well everyone has their preferences, I've heard great things about the beretta 92 and the 96 *the .40 cal version* but I've also heard some bad things about them. I know a few Border Patrol Agents who had to carry the 96 for years and used to call it the Italian tomahawk because thats all it was good for. They were thrilled when they switched over to the HK P2000. Never had too much experience with Glocks except for firing a model 22 which I liked but the grip took a little bit to get used to *awfully blocky*. I would suggest going with a Ruger or maybe a used Glock. I've got a Ruger P94 and love it. Right now that Sig P225/P6 *$260-300.00* deal is great if you aren't afraid of buying a used gun and don't mind the 8 round single stack capacity. Most important thing is trying out the different guns at a gun shop or range and seeing which one fits, which is the right set up for you, etc.

check out springfeild xd its a great platform and is kicking glocks a** in sales lately. I dont like glock it feels like a block in my hands, but that is personal. Glock will take damage like a champ and bo bang every time. If I had to pick between the guns you listed I would pick SIG. I have shot 9, 40, and a 45 from SIG and every gun felt like a dream. recoil is almost nil and holding a zero is easy. With the 9 I could put shot after shot into the same hole at 20'. the 40 is a little hoter but still quarter size grouping, and the 45 was phenominal same grouping as the 40 but the recoil for a 45 was fantastic my colt has at least twice as much recoil and I absolutly love my Colt. I have never owned the other guns. congrats on your future purchase.

Sigs are just as reliable as anything else, (even more so than others) and Id be willing to say more accurate too. i think they also point better than glocks too.

Berreta has crappy customer service.

Oh and Sig was just awarded the new US Army contract. :P

Yes they are a tad expensive but you get what you pay for.

My G26 has been infinitely reliable for autoloader (1 stoppage in 3K rounds or so), corrosion resistant, tough, and durable. The trigger does "feel wierd" though and handling is a bit boxy. Plenty accurate with TruGlo's installed.

I just bought a Sig P220 Stainless carry elite, and after firing, all I could say is WOW ! This pistol feels great, looks great, and shoots great -- kinda like jumping behind the wheel of a Corvette. Seems to fit my stance and hands well. I don't have enough experience with Sig's to personally comment on reliablity; had no problems with 1st 200 rounds though and it shot HP's (TAP, Buffalo Bore) as well as hardball just fine.

It's a bit big and heavier for a summer CCW piece, so that's a consideration. If I had restrictions on firearms making it tough to own several (and if the Sig is at least as reliable and durable as the Glock) I'd say go with the Sig. For me, it's worth the extra $ and should hopefully last a lifetime.

Can only really comment on Sig and Beretta.

Sig comes in more varieties and is more accurate than Beretta because its barrel locks into place while firing. The DA triggers on Sigs are exceptional. The down side is that they are not quite as reliable in that they really prefer high quality ammunition. I had quite a few misfires with my 226 DAK. I'm not saying they are unreliable, just not as reliable as Beretta. Factory tritium sights are available. They come in .45, .40, .357 Sig, 9x19 models and one 9x17 model. For 9, .40 and .357 there are the 239 single-stack compact, 229 medium size and the 226 full size. Very nice pistols.

My own preference is for Beretta and I have a 92FS Inox, a 90Two and a 9x17mm Cheetah. Using factory magazines, the 92 will eat anything and is exceptionally reliable, even with that aluminum-cased crap. It's reliability comes from straight-line mag.-to-chamber feeding, the open top and the floating barrel. The fact that the barrel does not lock into a tight position while firing means they are not quite as accurate as the Sigs. Also, Beretta does not make a compact model in 9mm. I've heard mixed things about the model 96 .40 cal and of course there are no .45 or .357 Sig models. Also on most Beretta models the front sight cannot be removed.

The 92 has a chrome lined barrel and cleaning it and the other components is pretty easy and quick. The lock-up is a linear descendant of the WWII era P-38 Walther. I find them to be a good size for my hand. In addition to the features on the 92, the 90Two has a captive recoil spring, a guide to ensure proper spring placement during reassembly, an integral plastic handle, radium night sights and a pair of 17 rd. magazines. The 90Two also accepts regular 15rd. 92 mags. Other handle sizes are available, though the supplied handle should fit most hands. The sights glow for about 20 minutes after exposure to light. There is also an accessory rail and a cover for it when not in use. You can load an entire box of ammunition with an extra 15rd. mag., the two 17s and one shot in the chamber. It is uber-cool.
