I get a couple of messages every week about the hatred of hipoints. Their theoretical disadvantages. It is really interesting about the backlash toward HP owners from non owners. A more logical complaint would be toward the political climate. To me it signifies a stunted mental development. It's funny that HiPoint owners that have responded here have been happy with them. NRA joe what distance were you shooting? |

I think someone that bought into one is more likely to be happy, because they paid for it, and now they're kinda stuck with it. Are they moderately accurate? Sure. Do they go bang? Sure Would I buy one? Heck no. That's my opinion. I hate cheap guns, and this one, in my hands, feels cheap, and looks horrific. I also hate glocks, and they're extremely reliable and not cheap. |

Well Bravo, I bought one and was happy with it so I bought another and was happy with it so I purchased a 3rd. and low and behold Im happy. I am looking for another one. Not sure what is meant by buying into one. These are not airplanes, you just go to the counter and give them your 150 dollars or so. You don't have to share ownership with anyone else. Don't know anyone who has a share in a hipoint. Not sure how you can address this anomoly of nature. I am not that easy to please. I am sure that others here have more than one as well. I hate things that dont perform as expected. I have rejected many things that don't do the job that they are expected to do. I've got glock. It shoots well. I had to pay like 2.5 Hipoints for it. I have some real steel weapons as well. Perhaps I a "gun nut" Take care and be sure defend your right to bear arms this week. To the non gun owner all guns are evil and something that must be eliminated from society. Quote:

Ouch, you and I are similar in that we both are rather difficult to please when it comes to guns. The Hi-Point obviously feels good in your hand, and thus you like it. At $150, if you can hold it and shoot it, you should like it You also like Glocks....we just have different opinions on what types of guns we like. The fact that you found a $150 handgun that you like a great...I wish I could find a $150 handgun with 1911 style grips...but that will probably never happen |

i had two but sold them when money got tight and i regret it everyday.i will oneday own some more highpoints.the c.9mm is a comfortable gun to hold now the .40/and the .45 is bigger and my hands are small so they might not fit as well but i would buy one of them as well just to have one being they are highpoints.

That's some good shooting with your Hi-Point 9mm NRAJoe! As asked by another member: at what distance were you shooting? Also, what ammo were you using? Like you, I enjoy taking my HPs out for a shoot every now and again, 9mm and 40 S&W. Sure wished they'd get production and distribution underway for their 45 Carbine. For best HP price options, I've seen several low-priced options listed in the Thrifty Nickel and local newspapers.

A friend and I went out to our local shop so my friend could look at handguns. The salesman himself said you coudl point it to his face and pull the trigger and miss because they are such crap. I found it comical that a man whose financial security lies in selling guns told us not to buy it. I do not own one or have fired one so I am not here to comment on the performance of these b/c it woudl be speculation...Just thought I'd share a funny anecdote

I've been thinking about buying one as a gift to a friend. She is going to be signing up for a CCW class, but doesn't have a lot of cash to spend on a gun. I told her she could use my FEG .380 or RIA .45 in the class, but perhaps I may buy her one of these for xmas. I see no problem trusting myself to a gun after going through 200-300 rounds without failure, regardless of the cost.

| playing with the new c-9
Finally got over all the holiday stuff and the wifes birthday. went out to shoot the high point today. i ran 50 round through it in about 45 minutes neve had the first stove pipe or failure to fire or any other problems. only cons the sticker on the grip was a pain in the rear and left the grip sticky, the 8 round magazine, only one magazine with the gun that will have to change i found 8 round mags on Cheaper Than Dirt - America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter for $11 plan to order about four. pros straight out of the box loaded it and was hitting great at about 8 or 9 yards. still have 200 rounds just waiting to sling down range. will keep you all posted on how the gun works

i had the c.9mm and the carbine but man that little c.9mm pistol it was nice and accurate man i would put it right up there next to my glock 17. to me the only too cons of the gun there is no field stripping this gun.lol and two it only holds 8 rounds but hey what other gun can you buy that shoots that good and anything can happen to it just as long as you can return the part with the serial number to them they will fix it or send you a new gun"oops dropped it in a fire and it melted "yes you get a new one. oops it fell down a 1k foot cliff and is in millions of peices "yes you get a new one or they fix it. "you was cleaning it and you broke the gun "yep you guessed it you get anew one or they fix it.
