Are they making a Hi Point in a 40 S&W yet? Personaly I favor the 40 over the 9. To me a 45acp is only chambered for a 1911 or clone of. Im sure that statement will ruffle some feathers but to me thats just how I feel.

yeah they make the hi-point in the .40 s&w but generally ive found they are the exact same price or maybe 5 to 10 dollar difference. so i figure either spend about 40 bucks less for a 9 or if im gonna spend the money for a .40 why not just spend the same amount and get a .45?

first gun i have owned is a hi point 9mm, shot it about 200 times the first time at the range glad there was a range officer there to help me get started, after that i wiped it down & a little oil. put it in the nightstand drawer, two weeks later, about 3 am two men broke in our house, the hi point saved our lives, i shot 4 times, a hi point is all i'll ever have

I purchased a C9 several years ago. I fired an estimated total of about 200 rounds out of it at the local indoor firing range and experienced moderate accuracy. However, I took it to an outdoor facility with a couple of my friends one weekend, and all of us experienced the same problem. Very poor accuracy. At about 10-15 yards the only thing that was catching any lead was the dirt. Sight picture had to be brought up significantly to produce any hits on the target. Fairly heavy for a 9mm, and not very well balanced at all. I was completely dissappointed with it and took it back to the dealer i purchased it from to get my money back. They would not give me the money back, they would only give me store credit (company policy). So I tried to get rid of it and a few other local chains in the area and their store policy was that they would not do any business involving a HiPoint firearm. So needless to say I ended up trading it back to the place I bought it from. Based on my experience I would not recommend HiPoint to anyone. Just my two cents.

| High-Point 380
"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder!" Meaning, "not everybody likes the same thing." Wouldn't life be boring if everybody was alike? Back to the point, my 380 did chamber the first couple of rounds "tight" showing scratches on the case. Looks like a sharp "burr" on the breech. I didn't have anything to de-burr it, so I pulled the slide back (mag out) & the round slammed home! I slid the mag back in, aimed and it fired, the second round "almost" chambered. I pulled the slide back, it snapped home! 200+ rounds later, IT SHOOTS PERFECT! Yes, I can hit a golf ball, at well over 25 yard! "Hitting the target" is more "the operator" rather than "the gun!" My 9mm Taurus is fun to shoot, my Browning is fun to shoot, so is my SIG. But, the Hi-Point is a "HOOT! Several people have shot mine. All said "Wow, that's a nice gun!" nobody (read:NOBODY!) said ANYTHING negative about it. Everybody said "This only cost $141? (with tax) It may "look different" but my Stainless Taurus looks a LOT different, than my SIG! ...each to his own... I own one! I like it!
