| If I'm thinking of the right gun the Walther p22 is only chambered in .22 as compared to the glock 17/19 which is a 9mm, I would go with the glock in a heartbeat over the walther. Now walther does have a 9mm I think its called the p99, I might be wrong on the name. Iam not familiar with walthers though, you might want to look into that one. |

| Your comparing apples to oranges with the P22 and Glock. The P22 is a fun plinking/practice pistol, but that is about it. It is a .22lr which is way under powered for defensive work. Of course, it can lethal if you get a head shot, but otherwise your attacker will likely expire sometime the next day. Not good for you! The Glock could be used for both plinking and defence with just a change in ammo. The Glock will be more accurate than the P22. I have the P22, it is fun little pistol, but it is not that accurate. I would suggest the G-17 or G-19. The G-19 would be better if you want a concealed carry pistol. |

| Had a p-22 never could get it to quit jamming, even sent it back to the factory and it didn't help. |

| The first handgun I bought for myself was a P22. After several months of it spitting hot cartridges down my shirt front and becoming more and more particular about what ammo it wanted to shoot, I sent it back to Walther for work. That decision was made after a couple of spent cartridges raised blisters when they made two point landings down the front of my tank top while shooting. I have to give Walther credit. They got it back to me fast with a new extractor installed, no questions asked, no hassle and now it's a pretty dependable little hand gun. Still prefers high priced mini mags as far as ammo is concerned but other than that, not bad, and a good semi auto to learn to handle hand guns with. Would I buy a Glock over a Walther P22 if I had it all to do over again? In a word. Yeah. The P22 is a good little gun, but it isn't, in my opinion , nearly as versatile as a 9mm. Nor as dependable as a Glock. But cheaper to shoot.

| Let us know how you like your new gun when you get it. I took the big jump today and put a Glock 19 on layaway. Keeping my fingers crossed that I made a good choice.

| I have a P22 and it is good fun. I've only used mini mags so I don't know what else it might like, but I have heard yellow jackets work pretty well. Not very accurate past 25 feet and not all that accurate at 25 feet, but fun to shoot and inexpensive. I got mine for 230 lightly used. I see them now for much more for some reason. |

| Flavor, check out the springfield armoury XD line of guns, just so you have a choice. They are extremely nice and cheaper than a glock. |

| +1 to Silverrun and eddiedeverall I have never shot a Glock, so I can't comment on that, but I shot a XD45 and it was a great gun, I will probably own one at some point in my life, I have also shot a P22 and silverrun covered it pretty well, there are some that will throw the brass in your face, but Walther put out a recall on the extractor on those |
