Century Arms 1911???

I'm considering a Century Arms 1911... I like the price tag, but I know you "get what you pay for".
Does anyone have any experience with these?
I want the good, the bad and the ugly! Thanks!

What is the price tag? Post a link to it.

Sorry, no link. This is one my local FFL has in store. "Asking" price is 370 (NIB), but he's great about offering a "deal" and he always throws in a box of ammo.
I love the Springfields but they're a bit out of my current price range. I'm looking for something that would be a good "introduction" to the 1911 design without forking out 800+. I'm def. not opposed to spending the big bucks for quality on a design that I am familiar with, but I'm not experienced with the 1911 design. I wondered if anyone had any personal experience with these? Reliability, feeding issues, jams, etc.
Thanks.

which

khahn79: Ma'am; which model $358.00
at Gun Source .45ACP 7 shot Military version.

Ma'am; I read three different resource web threads. Not to good; wouldn't even go into detail except talking about how bad the receiver is.

I know nothing about Century Arms, just read about them.

I've read good things about Rock Island Armory and High Standard 1911s. They are what they are though, they will not be the same quality of a 2000 dollar 1911.

Not sure on the model, just saw it in the shop and thought I'd check into the brand's reputation before I even considered talking to him about it.
That's good to know about the receiver problems. (Well, I guess it's not "good"...but you know!) That's what I'm wanting to know...specific "pros and cons" so that I can see if this would be a good deal or not. I'm not really even in the market for a 1911 yet, but I saw that one and had never heard of that manufacture before.
I've decided that the reason my dealer still allows layaway is that he knows people like me will come in to make a payment and end up considering other guns while in the shop!

I've heard a lot of good things about the Rock Island Armory 1911's. Plus, Classic Arms Inc. has them for $360 for the regular and $400 for the hard-chromed-slide two-tone model.

I don't know ? I suppose if you only took that pistol out once in a while it would be okay but, if you planned on shooting it? you might want to purchase another brand? I'm pretty happy with springfield arms! thats my humble opinion!

Century Arms

khahn79: Ma'am; out of my curiosity I did research in many different ways trying to find a good resource for the Century Arms 1911.
Ma'am; those three are it.
Not a 'forum', nor threads?
I find that interesting.
Most who own are proud and create space to discuss the latest.
Good luck and do follow up.

We saw one today for 325. I thought it looked ok. Red didn't like it because she thought the slide kind of stiff.

Was basic like a military weapon. Not gussied up like you see so often with the modern versions of the 1911. I am sure that it would lay lead on target.

I would take in some gun shows in your area.

If you are set on a 1911 but low on $, look into a Charles Daley clone or Taurus.
I have a Charles Daly High Power clone and like it very much. Only cost $310 nib at my local dealer. Tried a Taurus 1911 last summer and shot it very well. Not bad for the money. I am still a fan of the CZ97B, 45 ACP, double action, double stack. A CZ75 on steroids. My son swears by his Springfield 1911. I like it too but the price is higher.
