Thinking about getting one but haven't decided on which as a step up from a 9mm. Can you use 38s in the 357 like in revolvers? and if so do you need a different clip? Im fairly new to handguns so these might be common knowledge. thanks

Hey Ander, Unless I'm mistaken (I'm 99.999% sure here), you can't use .38's at all in a .357Sig Glock. There are a few reasons. 1. The chamber is completely different. When comparing the .357mag vs .38, the cartridges are nearly identical, the only difference being powder and bullet load. When comparing the .357sig and .38...well, take a look for yourself: .38 Special: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...38_Special.jpg .357Sig: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...J_-_SB_-_3.jpg Notice the bottle neck in the .357 Sig. That makes it a no-no to shoot the straight cased .38 in it. A more common conversion for the .357 Sig it to buy a .40cal conversion barrel. The back of the .357 Sig case is identical to the .40S&W, and thus .40S&W and .357 Sig magazines are usually the same. By changing the barrel, you can switch between the 2 cartridges. Think of the .357 Sig being a .40S&W necked down to a 9mm Luger. Hope this helps. |

| Yup, that's what Dallas SWAT uses in their Sig's. Saw a guy on the TV show showing off his Sig and mentioning that it was a .40S&W necked down to 9mm. I figured that had to be .357Sig, but I couldn't figure why he didn't just say that.
