| which caliber OK so heres the question, which caliber would you choose, 32-20, 38-40, 44-40. Am thinking of a new single action and want something different so I thought about going with an older caliberbut can't figure out which one. The revolver will be a cimarronbut the model will be dependent of the caliber. please help me out guys, though I am kinda leaning toward the 38-40. |

| The 44-40 is a good caliber and there is lots of ammo around.

| Lost in the Ozone Again ![]() | +1 (and a new caliber as well.....) Would go .45 colt, if limited to choices you listed, .44-40.

| .44-40 This is a classic round. I rather image you will find much more in the way of ammunition, reloading components, etc. than for the other rounds although I do not wish to disparage them. They, too, had their place in American history. |

| .44-40 is a very efficient round, and is often overlooked by handgun hunters, but really, all are good choices. My Second choice would be the .38-40. Really, the more 4's in the name, the better. Even better if there's a "5" in there somewhere! |
