| Senior Member | CCW permits I just happened to be looking at the costs of permits because I will have to get a SC CCW and my wife will get a NC CCW. I first thought it was pricey that you had to spend 75 on a course before paying the 50 for the ccw but then i saw NC. it will cost the same 75 for the course but 90 for the ccw in NC. OUCH! How much are they in ya'lls states? |

| Senior Member | Well its complicated. We are both students and go to schools in different states. We live right near the border which makes it about an hour commute to school for each of us. She needs NC residency to pay instate tuition and I need SC residency for the same reason. We lived in NC before we got married so when we moved to SC we just left all of her information the same because as a student you can live in a temporary address and not have to change any of your information. See told you it was complicated. short answer is no |

| Then you will have to falsify NC's application. Big No-No and a felony in NC. |

| Senior Member | She is legally a NC resident. Her perminant residence is still in NC. Works in NC. Goes to school in NC. Banks in NC. NC drivers license. NC Car tag. There is nothing false about it she's an NCian. Last edited by ander254; 03-13-2008 at 11:10 AM. |

| Both of you can take the John Ross course, get the Utah CCW license/permit and your good for I think 5 years and 28 states. Check out the reciprocity laws and if SC and NC honor Utah, and vise versa, your good to go and you good in about 25 other state. Here you go, save you a little time. | I just got my carry permit and in TN I paid almost $93 for my ccw course (places vary, of course); the permit fee was $115.00 and its good for 4 years; $50.00 to renew before it expires.

| Here in Tennessee I have been quoted from $50 to $200 for the course and it's $115 to state for background check/finger prints.

| Here in Missouri the course can be any price the market will bear. I have seen them offered for anywhere between $100 all the way to $180. Then the sherrif of the county the resident resides in can charge up to $100. So it really depends on where you live and who you know. The whole ball of wax cost me $175 for 3 years. The renewal is $50 and there is no need to retake the safety course.
