First course of action is to try a new brand of ammo. Make it ball/fmj ammo, it should feed most reliably. If it does and you want hollow point ammo give that a shot afterwards.

If changing ammo does not cure the problem, try changing magazines.

I've heard that they jam quite a bit until they've hit about 500 rounds or so.

I've also heard that they jam if the feed ramp is dirty or unpolished.

I've always wanted one, but don't seem to be the most reliable guns I hope you get things sorted out.

I have put over 1000 rounds through my Walther PP 32ACP and have never had a problem.

I'm Guessing you mean Walther ppk. They are made by interarms in Virginia now. They bought out and moved all the original equipment from walther's factory. Stovepiping is a fired case getting caught in the action as opposed to a failure to feed issue. I have a ppks and have no problems with it. Seems odd it's always on the 5th or 6th round. If what your talking about is a failure to feed issue the magazine might have a burr or dent in it that is not letting the follower move through that part of the magazine. Another cause could be the magazine catch is not fully engaging or your not seating the magazine all the way. With an EMPTY gun and magazine, slam the magazine into the well a few times. that may get things worn in a little. Good luck, Let me and or us know how you make out

I'm seeing a similar issue with a new ppk/s. I'm experiencing a failure to feed issue, i think i've traced it to a falty mag or mag catch latch. The mag has about a 16th inch play when it is seated in the gun. Any one seen this issue?

Brother has ppk/s. Some failures to feed (mostly with JHP) at first......after first shooting and cleaning dropped off dramatically.
