I have three Pietta-made cap&ball repros, from the 70's, 80's and present. They carry the same proof marks and company stamping - no date codes as far as I know. The 70's model is made quite differently from the newer guns - not as robust, smaller overall.
So, manufacture has changed over the years - but how to date it for sure? If you find out any info, we'd all be grateful for it.
