These Are The 1911 Mag Qualities I Want - Can You Help?

Gents, a question if I may:

I plan to order a couple Wilson #47 7 rounders for carry. I only carry 7 in the #47D I have, the 8th being in the pipe, since it doesn't like to feed from the magazine when it's full. It will, but it nosedives on the frame ramp a bit too much. I know they're supposed to do this a little, but it's just too much on the first round.

The other mags that function perfectly in this pistol are McCormick Shooting Star mags with the stock springs and followers pulled, and replaced with GI springs and dimpled followers. This takes the capacity down to 7 rounds, but they are very sure functioning. They would not lock the slide back with the stock follower - it tipped.

So, besides the Wilson #47, what I would like in a magazine are these qualities:

7 rounds

military dimpled follower

welded or otherwise fixed base

screw on base pad

black finish

wadcutter feed lip profile

Does anyone know where I might find such a beast?

Thanks,

Josh <><

I really like Colt brand 7 round mags. Although, I'm not sure what wadcutter feed lips are.

It doesn't meet all your specs, but I am very partial to MecGar magazines - as good as McCormick's and Wilson's for half the price.

If you have a gun shop that does a lot of business in milsurp firearms, you might try checking there. The government just released a whole pile of GI milspec magazines that appear never to have been issued and they aren't going for much, at least not around here. I got mine 3 for $20. Worth checking on.
