At a buck & a quarter a shot, I only use the D.E. .50ae rarely. I've never used more than 50 rounds at a time.

Then again, my new gal reloads...hrm...might have to change that habit

I personally don't see the need to blast away with the big boomers all afternoon, once you've seen em blow somethin apart, time to put them back in the case.

With ammo prices these days, I think no matter what you shoot you are breaking the bank. .223 is over .50 a shot now, every time I squeeze the trigger I hear .50 hit the ground.

lets see .03 per primer and about .07 for powder for 44 mag.
this is for full powder loads. easily cut down to .05 so for 8-10 cents per shot
20.00 goes a long way for an afternoons fun.
cast bullets run me about .02 each btw.

I can never find anything but Gold Dot ammo for my D.E .50AE. That's some pricey plinkin'.

Anyway, I have a messed up wrist and never get through a whole box with the D.E. because my wrist will be hurting for a couple of days afterwards.

Well, that is one valid viewpoint but . . .

when I go to the range I enjoy some extended shooting with my .22 and sometimes do spend time visiting other shooters. So, a few shots and back home is not my cup of tea. I'll bet I do not spend as much as you might think.

Pistol ammo has gotten way up there in price. I don't have the stuff to reload yet. That is why I like the Mil Surps. I can blast till my hearts content and not break the bank.

I really like my little Walther 32acp. Blast to shoot and accurate.
