With the right permit you can. VERY, VERY hard to get but not unavailable. I drove a liquor delivery truck in Ney York when I was in college. Delivered to 2 stores on Lenox and a bar on 125th. I had a permit.

Written as one who has probably never owned, much less shot one. Nothing like letting rumor make up your mind for you.

I have shot one which was enough to make me know I won't own one.

I agree there. I've lived in NYC most of my life and spent a lot of time in Harlem. Gun laws go out the window in the jungle. The negros selling dope don't redgister their Mac 10's.

stale...what i meant was that i wish i would have acoaly seen the gun go through some trama, in the video all i saw was a guy shooting a somewhat dusty gun. you and i both know how much doctoring goes on on the internet so im not just going to assume that that gun realy did spend weeks in a litterbox. now if it had showed them droping it into a swomp and then pulling itout and fireing it id be impressed, but this video was pointless in my view.

Very good point not to mention why would anyone store a gun in a liter box? Trying to tell us crap AKA Hi Point belongs in a liter box?

I believe Hi-Point makes firearms for folks who can not afford more and/or want something to have as a truck/boat/camping firearm. There are probably better but you go with what you can.
I have a carbine in 40 S&W and really like it and it has worked with everything but Wolf ammo (steel case).

Might be a good boat gun as one that you keep until it rusts then throw it away.

Here we go again. Price doesn't determine quality in this case. If the high priced guns are so great why don't their manufacturers stand behind them forever unconditionally? I mean really, my C9 can fall out of the case on my way to the truck unnoticed and break after I back over it. I pick it up, send it to Hi Point, wait a few weeks, get it back in working condition as it was when I bought it, and not get a bill. Why when you spend 8-10 times for another brand can they not stand behind it like that? Heck I bet most people would be happy just having other brands stand behind defects forever, never mind stupidity.

I'll shoot with any brand at a range. I may be beat by another person but I will not be beat because of another brand. Been there, done that. Converted more than one previous gun snob after they actually watched, then asked to try, my Hi Point.

I'm not at all hung up on brands when it comes to guns. I love them all and want one or two of everything. I learned early on that price bears almost no impact on the actual product. If it is a POS then it is a POS. If it malfunctions then get it fixed and stop whining. That applies to pretty much any brand. And as always I will offer $75 to anyone with one of the POS Hi Points. Just message me and I'll give you my FFL's information. I'll even take a picture of the target after I warm the barrel.

At $75 or $80 it's a great gun to teach your kids and not care if they destroy. Keep one around the house ust to have. I think they sell new for about $150. The one I shot was very heavy if I remember correctly. It was years back.
