spesco phoenix p-51

Anybody ever heard of a pistol by a company called SPESCO? It is a little 25 auto that has Atlanta Ga. on the side, and says phoenix p-51 on the fore end of the barrel. Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of it myself but might have some guidance. I have emailed the NRA with similar questions and they are a wealth of information. They are fairly slow to answer but when they do you get a very through answer. I have learned through trial and error that if you put your subject line as "Question from member # *Your membership number" they answer a little faster.

Good luck and please post your answer when you get one. I am curious now.

Never heard of them, but I would wager that it is a POS and you don't want it. Off- brand .25 pocket pistols made by unknown fly-by-night companies always are.

Thanks

Finding out it was made in Brazil helps me have an idea of the price range, I'd like to eventually figure out a date. I know it is at least 30 yrs old, my grandmother carried it as a purse gun at least as early as 1975.

Have you tried firing it? It might be a fun little gun. If you haven't, I'd take it to a gunsmith to take a look at just in case then take it out and play. If you like it then it is a good gun for you. I just thing there would be something fun about firing Grandma's Gun.

KW I have fired it. It kicks like an angry mule, feels more like a 45 than a 25. Probably because I can wrap the whole gun in one hand and you can't see it. I won't be carrying it, but it is a neat little sucker.
