Not under the pillow but not far away at all is a Dan wesson Bobtail Classic .45 ACP. But that might change tomarrow if the gunshop has a LCP avalible. Plan on adding a lazer onto it for even better home protection. Then my next will be a sIG with a tac lite. but thats a little while down the road.

Well I don't sleep with one under the pillow. But I do sleep with one on the bed side stand.
Learned to do this bed side thing and a loaded shot gun next to my bed when I lived in Indiana.
It's a great place to fly over but not live.
Currently it is a Astra A100 9mm

Racking a round in and checking the firing indicator and cartridge indicator in the dark is no problem. Big reason I purchased the XD.

Mine is a Kimber ProCDP (pre series II) It is my regular carry gun, and stays cocked and locked, regardless of being on my hip, on my nightstand.

I don't keep it under my pillow but all I have is my S.A. XDm9 (9mm). If I got the S.A. Micro Compact 1911 in .45ACP then that would be my "PILLOW" gun.

Not a pistol, but I keep my mini-14 ranch rifle, with 20 round mag and barrel mounted flashlight, under the bed, in easy reach.

Smith & Wesson .357 Highway Patrolman with 6 Federal jacked hollow points.
No magazine to insert.
No safety to worry about.
No action to rack.
Just point and pull!
Not under the pillow but on the nightstand. Been there for twenty years.
