Lightbulb Muzzle Energy

velocity times velocity times bullet weight (in grains) divided by 450436
equals muzzle energy in ft/lbs  :target:

Imagine my disapointment to discover the 22 Hornet has more muzzle energy than the 45 ACP I love so much.

Of course, it is a rifle and that squaring of the velocity helps out a lot.

And the 10mm loaded properly makes a 45 look kinda silly. Best I've had was 135gr JHP at 1600fps.
