Hey all, was window shopping and thought I'd just pass this on as I think it's a really good price for 500rds. or 1 case of Federal XM193 55gr ammo.. The price? Just $174 or BIN $175 and $20 bucks to ship it.
I'd also point out, this seller has some really low prices on a certain few firearms. I mean a Kimber Custom II for $649? A S&W i-Bolt in 30-03 for $348 bucks, then there's even a rebate direct from S&W?
Pass this on if you know anyone looking for any or all. I would have put this in the ammo section but it don't fit in the reloading forum nor does it fit in the ammo reports forum. So, since it's for AR's, I thought I'd out it in here. As for the Kimber and S&W info, just though I'd throw it in as a bonus. lol
I bought some from that same seller a couple of weeks ago. It's good stuff and they ship fast. I called them and paid for it on a Thursday and it arrived the following Wednesday. This was UPS ground from Ohio to Las vegas.
I used to think most things like ammo were cheaper in the States but not so it seams.
It costs me the equivalent of $185 for 500 rounds of 4 year old, RG, boxer primed, SS109, 5.56nato in bandoliers of 10 rounds stripper clips. If I buy it in multiples of 900 rounds, I get the ammo can thrown in as well.

you used to be correctin thinking that, but in last year or so ammo prices have skyrocketed here inthe states.
Yes it is, but I've never heard of Centurion brand? Anyone else? Item#A223US New Centurion brand 2008 Production .223 Ammunition manufactured in the USA by a Department of Defense Contractor. This is First Quality ammunition utilizing the finest in components including a 55grn full copper jacketed lead core boat tail bullet, brass case, and Non-corrosive boxer primer. While supplies last.

Again, yes great price, but I've never heard of Centurion brand? Anyone else?
This is .223 Centurion Military Contract 55gr. FMJ Ammo. This ammo is manufactured by a U.S. Military contractor that has contracts to manufacture various types of ammunition and countermeasure flares for the U.S. Military. This ammo is brass cased, boxer primed, and 100% non-corrosive. This is clean, reliable, and accurate military grade ammo at a reasonable price. This is premium 100% new manufactured ammo, made in the USA. This ammo comes bulk packed.
Just because an ad states it's from or by a military contractor, doesn't factor into why I buy something. Not saying it does you or anyone else. But anyone can state anything in an ad. Not saying that they'll lie or or anything, but I take it all at face value when it comes to an ad or description of same.
FWIW, Federal Lake City brand is or once was also military grade/brand right?
I guess I'll just put it this way, they are all great buys on .223 and all we are trying to do is pass those deals or point out those deals to fellow members so that as many as possible see them and take advantage of them as possible...

Yes.... Lake City (LC) is the major military ammunition manufacturer.
All I was saying is that Centurion (for the price) is worth trying. Personally... I just bought some but do prefer Lake City over everything else.
The only .223 (5.56) that I've stayed away from (up to this point) is the South African "Battle Packs" for their amount of misfires. That tends to be problematic in full-auto fire.
Have you had any problems with those GlockMeister ... or have they "fixed" that problem?

We used a lot of those SA battle packs and I've never heard of any problems with it. Only problem was it was Berdan primed.
