Shooting and Reloading Old Brass

Hey guys,
Just wanted you guy's opinions on shooting and reloading old shell casings? I have a few 38 special casings and was wondering if it would be safe to shoot them? My only concern is if they made it with sub-standard brass? Thanks.
Andrew

Safe to load and shoot, assuming you are not loading to +P pressures. 38 Spl is not a high pressure cartridge. So, unless you visually detect defects in the brass, you are good to go.

Send them to me.
I'll inspect them and send you only the good ones back.

Only if I get to inspect your rifle collection. There's been reports of a moth infestation and I need to clear the barrells for you.....

as long as they are brass or nickel plated and in good shape, and not covered with green corrosion of course, there is no reason that I can think of as to why they should not be fine for loading.

Andrew, look this one over do you see any signs of infestation?
I did put some moth balls in the butt stock just to be on the safe side.

Andrew

Define how old. SAAMI specs haven't changed much at all in a lot of years. I have 30+ year old .38 Spec. cases I have reloaded 40-50 times.
