The following pics are of some .300 H&H ammo That I have that are factory loads. One is headstamped "Peters" the other is Rem-UMC , and both are stamped 300 Magnum.
I believe they may be from the 40's or early 50's.
I want to know what the bullets were called since they are strange and dont match anything I have found yet in old ads.
They are round nosed , with a hollow point, and a lead "tit' inside with no lead exposed and the bullets are about 1-1/8 inch long.
Anyone know what this Bullet design was called ???

Looks like bird shot to me moose. I used to do the same with .30-30 Win rounds. A piece of #6 shot fit nicely and made sure that the bullet expanded right at longer distances. So was my thinking anyhow, havent done it in a long time. Of course havent loaded any .30-30 HPs in a longtime either.
I'm thinking they are are Remington Innerbelted Hollow Points. I'll be danged if I can find any pictures though. I'm gonna put out a feeler on a cartridge collecting forum. I'll let you know when I know.
They are lead inside...I looked at the inner belted ammo ads and they showed lead protruding like the old Core-lokt round nose bullets...
I do believe these are over 200 grain and probably 220 gr.They are 1/8 inch longer than my 180 grain SP bullets.

The one I saw was a 30-30 round. It was jacketed all the way to the tip, and had a teet in it, like a Fed Hydra-Shok. I'm thinking they are of this same era.

Brand name: Old like the owner
Type of bullet: Obsolete Alaskan stuff
In all seriousness, I've been doing some research all day and ain't found nothing yet. It isn't a Norma Oryx protected point is it? May be a woodleigh protected point.

A golf tee set upside down in a 12 gauge shot cup looks something like that, too. Makes a very effective spreader load if you hunt grouse and don't have an open choked gun.
Might also be kind of nasty in a HD load in a short barrel, too. Of course, now you can just buy post wads, I think.
