.303 Brit and 7.62x54R Bullets

Can you use the same bullet when reloading for both?
Say like a 174 gr .311?

Hello Fisch,

While you should slug your barrel, the general answer is "yes, you can."

Hornady makes o.312" bullets if you need to go higher, as is often the case in both of these rifles, especially those made during WWII.

I do not need to mention that you should not use the same load data... but you never know who might read this.

Regards,

Josh

I've recently scored some 150 and 180 grain softpoints. 311's from midway and will load them in .303 or .7.62x54r.

Correction. They're 150 and 200 grains.

7.62X54 reloads

I have a bunch if pulled 303s to load into 7.62X54. Finally found some 7.62X54R brass with primed brass at guns shows in Georgia through Georgia Arms Co. using reload data for 7.62X54R for more accuracy .0001 over Russian bore. Got a Webly Mark VI, slugged barrel came out .455. Found a cast bullet mold Old Ruger Cowboy .456. Just perfect for Webly. Reload them with 45 ACP data, just use 1/2 powder because of chamber pressure.

I'm STILL running with the 2000 pulled 150 grain FMJBT's I got from Wideners a long time ago. Down to my last 500 or so. Since I use them in both my .303 and 7.62X54, I will run out soon. Wish they still had that deal going.
