Berry's has SP 123 grain .311" 7.62X39 (.311") copper plated bullets for $37.07/250. Was going to try them till I saw that max suggested velocity was 1900 fps. I have absolutely no recipes for that low.
Any of youse?

I am not sure if I can be of help here, so proceed with caution!!
The 7.62x39 (Russian)In 125gr sp uses 24.5gr Min,& 26.5 Max of AR2207
( equivelent is IMR 4198 or Winchester W608)
which gives a velocity of 2,190min 2,378max.
This may give you a basis to work from, Cheers Bob.
Hmmm.... looking for lead bullet data for 7.62X39, they all seem to begin at 150 grains and go up. If you want to load the 123 stuff, you would need to 'extrapolate' (experiment)......

A friend of mine at the range tried some of those 123 plated bullets from Barry. He has a Chinese SKS. This was a while back. I seen him today and ask him after reading this post I knew he was playing around with some loads. I asked him how it turned out. We just looked at me and laughed. You tell me he scrapped it. He was having problems with it cycling and also problems with fouling. He said it seemed to him it was a fine line between the charge being hot enough/pressure or two high velocity. He said at one point he also noted copper flaky residue in the gas mechanism. He felt it might've been because of the light crimp he was using or the velocity was a little too much for that soft bullet. He felt you'd probably be better off using them in some type of a rifle that was not gas operated. I do believe you mentioned having a M44. Have you ever thought about some reduced loads.
