| Senior Member | Why are 410ga shells so expensive compared to 12 or 20 ga? topic:? Not that they are hugely expensive, but they always cost more than 12ga or 20ga.. I guess it's like 22lr and 22WMR. Always puzzles my. |

| Super Moderator ![]() ![]() | I don't know...but my guess is that it relates to supply and demand. 12's & 20's are probably more commonly sold than 410's across the U.S. Yet, 410's are common around my neighborhood.

| Senior Member | I know right. Almost everyone that I know that owns a 12 or 20ga also owns a 410 for some reason. But perhaps it's not the same else where. I really like 410ga, especially slugs. Put that in a rifled barrel, and you have more range than a 12ga slug and still tons of stopping power. But I do love 12ga 3"mag slugs. Like shooting little cannons. |

| Moderator ![]() | Yep, I was looking for .410s the other day at Wally World - all they had was field loads. I want some slugs - gonna have to order them. I have a little Stevens single-shot bolt-action .410 - looks for a the world like a .22! Wally has a real nice little .410 Mooseberg pump that caught my eye though.

| Super Moderator ![]() | Barnaul makes metallic cased 410 rounds of buck and slugs at decent prices. I'm tempted to buy a Saiga 410 while they're cheap and use it for 410 before doing my hoped for big bore conversion.
