Pretty, but they're not as kinky as NRAJoe's AK in fuscia and pink, with the purple flower decals.
Hey, it's been another day - Joe may have one of those gold-member AK's.
:insane:

Saw an interesting AK at the range Saturday. I didn't get to talk with the kid that owned it, so I don't know what variant it was. Standard layout, but the wood was a dull "military' finish, looked like an oil finish with only a couple coats, not enough to give any gloss. Smooth and very nice wood grain - I liked it!

Some of the ones 3 gunshows ago looked more military than any I've seen...never knew what to expect on the SAR-1's...blonde...burgandy...unfinished...barely finished...Laminate...Russian type finish (which is what drew me to my newest SAR-1)

I have to go with the AK. The SKS might be more accurate but who cares when you have 30 or 40 rounds you can throw at the target. Serious fun.

if we are talking about a full auto ak47 instead of the usa legal semiauto versoin then i say the ak47 all hte way, but if we are talking about a semi-auto versoin then i say a sks is better, i say this becouse i own both and my sks is far more accurate than my ak, i beleave this makes up for the smaller mag size, both guns are just as rugged and reliable. for my money my choice is accuracy. one bullet on target is worth 1000 misses.

SKS - Hunting & Paper Punching
AK - Tactical Situations
I actually prefer the SKS but thats probably because I use it for hunting. If I were in a combat situation the AK with its better magazines makes it a much better weapon. Even if you had extended round magazines those duckbills are akward to pack many. Stripper clips suck IMHO. Being able to carry many magazines makes the AK a much better tactical choice.

I like my AK's a little better, but recently have brought the sks with me to the range alot more cause it doesent like to eat quite as much ammo, and not as quickly as the AK's. If i had to pick though prob the AK

Well we brought this one back frome the dead last post before today was 2004! How things have changed. I like the 7.62 round for one for what its for close range med range its pretty good like to get an AR in it be a great entry weapon. Anyways SKS is my pick I'd rather have the range of the SKS my self. but close in work the AK is better. Disclaimer this is only between the SKS and AK.

I can control and shoot my SKS more accurate than either of my friends AK's. Both are fun to shoot. Both are very reliable. But I still prefer my other tactical style rifle which is not listed in the comparison.

AK is a worthy piece of metal. You could train a 2 year old to tear one down... though it may not be the best idea. I loved mine.

For the price of a decent AK you could get an unissued sks mod it to take AK mags get an AK stock to fit on there buy a scope 1000 rounds of ammo and still have some cash left over and end up with a far more accurate an better looking rifle
