Well, turns out ive been sitting on a small sum of money that I didnt know I had. Don't really have have anything that need buying or fixing so i figured, what the hell, maybe i'll get a new toy. Ive always liked the way these rifles looked and im a fan of the calibre. Thing is, are they easy to get hold of? Are they fairly priced or another one of those high dollar imports? Are they actually a good rifle?

$629. About $800 CDN. A bit pricey. Would it be worth it? As say, a hunting rifle?

Make sure you know the difference between a real Dragunov SVD and a Romanian FPK/PSL/Romak-III. Nothing wrong with the latter, but the price difference is pretty high.

The advertising of those rifles is deceptive. There is nothing wrong with the Romanian PSL. It is however a Kalashnikov that has a long barrell and a Drag like buttstock. The Dragunov is named after it's designer and has a totally different operating system than a Kalashnikov. That's a great price for a PSL and I'm sure you'd enjoy it very much. When I bought my Drag, it cost me $800 and was part of a divorce sale. When I sold it I got $1200 for it. That seems to be the going rate for a Tiger Dragunov and the NDM's (Chinese SVD's) go for around $1,500
