| Super Moderator ![]() | H&R Heavy Barreled 308 ![]() Thinking about getting a tack driving bull barreled rifle in 308, and wonder if perhaps this would be a good and economical choice. I already have an 8-32x scope, but the thing's huge and long. Looking at the hammer, it looks like it may interfere, and the mount doesn't look too long. Any good way to deal with this or should I be picking another rifle for such a setup? I do prefer bolt actions, but this is the third the price of a Remington 700 VLS.

| Member | I just got one. There are definately some minor challenges mounting scopes...but can be easily overcome with the right rings and scope. I haven't gotten much time to foll with mine yet, but I am pretty stoked about it. It do beleive it will be a real tack-driver judging by my first results sighting in the scope. I am not going to keep the present el-cheapo scope, just threw it on to see what it would do....but this is a real nice way to get into an accurate shooting .308, and it can be rebarreled to many new calibers. I got just one thing to say to you ther fella...DO IT! |
