| Super Moderator ![]() | In PA the only gun we can carry loaded is a handgun and it must be concealed. Thus if I wanted a truck gun with rifle power, I would use my Hungarian AK pistol too. You can't keep a 12ga shotgun loaded in a car, or an AK rifle, but an AK pistol with a 75rd drum (which I don't have) is ok as long as it's concealed.

| :target: :target: :target: :target: :target: Here you can only carry handguns with a CCW permit so my Glock 23 is my companion everywhere. If I could pack a long gun in my truck, I would carry my Mossy 590 fully loaded. :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi: :uzi:

| hahah, seat belt. If only Ohio was like that. That'd be sweet. Speaking of 75-rd drum, our new Dunham's sporting goods has a Thompson (modified for semi-auto only, I think) for sale, and there's a 75-rd drum behind it in the case. Pretty sweeeet. That'd be an AWESOME truck gun. "Hand me that chopper! [.... ]Oh George, not the livestock!" - from O Brother, Where Art Thou? |

| Flare gun Got this new idea from an arms expert. Get a flare gun or two. You truckers who can't carry can appreciate that it's for safety reasons. Not even classed as a firearm, easy to buy as oil, and it is a 12 Gauge Rocket. If were to accidentally go off in a tussle with a assailant and you hit em the face...well it would really mess up their day. They make double ones too. Never can have too much safety gear. I have a case on hand in the back of my jeep just in case. Guns don't kill people, the husband coming home early does! |

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | Some interesting definitions of "Truck Gun" To folks I grew up around, a truck gun was basically a reliable old beater, kind of like a winter car in Minnesota. It was a rifle that kicked around the cab of a pickup or the trunk of a car: accurate enough to ruin a stupid coyote's day, beat-up enough to keep you from worrying about scratches or dings, and cheap to feed so you could plink all afternoon if the urge took you. Mine was a .30-30 Savage pump for years, and I wish I still had it. |

| Senior Member | Like it when older threads grown new legs When going to deer lease, Univeral M1 Carbine is behind the seat in Ramcharger (BigDog) ready. I often frequent the range. It's not uncommon to have one or two rifles behind the seat. When traveling, the Colt 45 goes along. Most times when I'm "called-out" in the middle of night, the shop is in an area of transition, that .45 is tucked in my belt when opening and closing the shop. It's not a tough or macho thing. I love living.

| Colt 1911 and folding stock AK, here in Alabama, they don't really care as long as you have a permit for a pistol, anything else goes. Last edited by FirstMad_Max; 06-04-2006 at 12:11 AM. |

| Whenever my Dad and I got out camping, fishing, hunting, or just having explosive fun in the desert; it's a Mossberg 590, 20", 8-Shot, 8-shot Side-Saddle, 15 rd sling, & an M8 Colt Bayonet. Shoot em a few dozen times and stab em if they can still breathe... |

Takes all kinds. And the variation between the areas really seems to have an effect on what gun someone uses or carries. Interesting. | |

| If I had a truck it would be my M38 Mosin Nagant. Until then, it's my TZ75 in the glove box of my car.... they don't make gunracks for 280ZX's |

Also I forgot my 2 most favorite "truck" guns. An M249 (SAW) with an M4 stock and sight rails w/a red dot and night vision, and a Browning .50 cal machine gun, mounted on a pedistal in the back. You can't beat 'em for a nice quiet drive through down town Baghdad.
