Question Western Auto Revelation 30-30??

Anyone ever heard of a Western Auto Revelation 30-30 rifle? A student of mine asked me if I had ever heard of one. I did a little research on the internet and could only find Western Auto .22 rifles.

I've got one as well. It's the same as the Marlin 336 carbine. Bought it in 01 from a pawn shop in Florida for $50. Man, was it ugly. Had bluing all over the butt stock. Sanded it down and no more bluing. One nice looking, nice shooting gun.

CleanCut is right. Marlin made a cheaper version of the 336 (unpolished blueing, lower-quality wood stock) for a number of years. They would put whatever company's name on the guns. I think Sears sold a bunch, too.

Any Marlin is a good gun, usually. Doesn't matter if it's not pretty. $50 is a steal. $160 is not a bad price this time of year (hunting season.)

I loved Western Auto stores.
There was no other store in the world where you could buy a lawnmower, washing machine, a set of tires, a gun and a box of ammo.
They had lots of stuff.

Yeah I asked my dad and he also confirmed the existence of the W.A. 30-30.

Me too Snakebite!! I spent several of my early years growing up in a W.A. store. My dad owned the local branch so I spent a lot of time there before starting school!

Some of the Revelations lever actions were made by Mossberg, even though they look very similar to Marlins.
