| Super Moderator ![]() | Agreed, I'd rather have the versatility and affordability of the 223, as well as the larger selection of rifles in that chambering. I've heard that the 204 can be a real tackdriver though.

| Senior Member | I'd say .204 Yeah, the .223 will be a lot cheaper to shoot, but check out a ballistics chart and the .204 blows it away. In my opinion there's a big difference in the two. If you're wanting something you can shoot A LOT, then go with the .223 simply based on the fact that it's cheap and still a very accurate and respectable round. Otherwise, for occasional plinking and varmit hunting, step up to the .204 (or even .22-250) |
