| Registered User | Navy Arms "73 Winchester in 44-40 I just picked up a Navy Arms replica of the Winchester 1873 rifle in 44-40. This one has the color case hardened receiver and octogon barral. Has anyone had any experience with this rifle, either good or bad. |

| Registered User | Now that I have had a chance to take this one out for a little target practice myself, I have noticed one thing in particular. The last round loaded in the chamber prior to cycling the action, is the critical round. The first attempt to put a round in the chamber created a jam due to the last round in the magazine not being lined up properly. Keeping an extra round handy to push the last round in the mag just a little further up to align it with the action made a tremendous differance. I cannot imagine remembering to do that in the excitment/panic of a skirmish. |
