| Senior Member | Quick detach scope mounts Has anyone ever used the quick detach scope rings? I'm looking at putting a set of these on the AR I'm about to build so that I can take the scope off and use iron sights as well. I've found several different kinds, ranging from about $80-140 for the set. The price isn't unreasonable, as long as they work properly. I could see the gun holding the same group after you detach/re-attach the scope, but what about holding the zero? If you marked the base where to attach it, would it hit the zero? Sorry for my ignorance, I've never had good luck with the "quick detach" ak style mounts, but this seems different... for some reason. thanks in advance |

| I've got quick detach on my Sako, they work great! I've had them on and off a few times and they hold zero. There Leuopold.

| if you know how to mount them, leupold QRW's on a weaver base return to zero fairly well. if your shooting something other than a flat top, i dont know where to point you. |

| Super Moderator ![]() | I use Leupold QRW rings on a Picatinny rail on the Armalite AR50 .50BMG and I have had no problem with loss of zero after removing it , and I marked the rail with yellow paint in the grooves for proper eye relief and quick reference attaching ! Rich

| With mine the base stays on the rifle and the ring's have a slot they go into. Then on the side of the base there's a cam that you turn. I'll post a photo later.
