Does anybody here have this caliber for a rifle? If so i was wondering how loud the report is on these rounds. I was thinking about getting one and using it for pest control. Thanks in advance.

I have the Marlin 17V bolt action. Yes, it's loud. Much like the .22 Magnum it was developed from. The bullets are super-sonic, so it gives that ear-geschplitten "CRACK".
Not too good for urban pest-eradication, noise-wise.
In the country, it's very good for smaller critters. This round defines the term "red mist".

BUT - they are wonderfully tight shooters! I get the occasional 5/8 inch group at 100 yards, though 3/4 inch is the average. Great fun to shoot, though the ammo is a bit spendy.

It was a blast to shoot. Very good round though for target shooting!
