| 700 Police Question
I was looking through my options in a .223 bolt action rifle. I came back to the Remington 700 Police, and was wondering whether the chamber was that of a AR15 (Chambered for the 5.56NATO), or that of a commercial .223. Anyone have a clue, and if not, anyone know a manufacturer that makes a 5.56 Chambered Bolt Action?

I believe the Rem 700 Police difference is only with the stock. When I delivered mail I had a County SWAT member I would chat briefly with. He was quite emphatic they used factory rounds with their rifles due to lawsuits, not that they couldn't have used 5.56 factory Winchester etcetera had the rifles been chambered for such. They all used Rem 700's. He never mentioned a 5.56 because most SWAT use .308 I believe. The Ruger Mini-14 (semi-auto) is the only barrel I've seen stamped 5.56 That's all I know and it's probably nothing new to you. The only other tidbit I'll say about the Rem 700 is the ADL can be made into a BDL. I've swapped out the magazine well from a Sendero BDL with an ADL and all the correct holes existed on both rifles. Obviously I had different stocks I was fooling with.

I'd just like to be able to m193 outta the same gun as my AR, but have it more accurate. Anyone know baseline, how much I could get a Bushmaster V-match?
