thompson question

I just bought a new thompson A1 (T5), that is the lightweight aluminum one. I have not fired or cleaned the gun yet. While looking it over, I noticed that there was a lot of play between the frame and the receiver. There is a little twist between the two sections. You can here the the receiver and the frame knock together. Does anyone else have a thompson that does this? is this normal, this much play?
